When we thought that mythical creatures, beings from the underworld, and imps were enough a new problem emerged. Old and sometimes new technology began to come alive. Technology began to behave erratically, as if it was possessed by something. Whole chunks of factories would disappear and assemble themselves into weird shapes of pipes, wires, and cogs. They would not show up often, but when they did, they brought destruction. It seemed like they were mad about something. These mechanical things would assemble into large groups and wage war or our towns and cities - a MechanoWar.
ROBOPIPE

Robopipe welded himself together using metal and parts from old abandoned steel mills, shut down factories, and shut down coal mines. Hot coal is burning inside of his chest, his giant eye can breathe fire, smoke coming out of the pipes on his head, poisoning everything around. He is big… very big… the smallest ones are the size of a four storey building. He never comes alone and is always surrounded by his smaller minions - the Centurimax. He attacks smaller villages and towns in the mountains or in the desert, that is why you rarely hear about what he does, and only hear about the devastation later.

Robopipe made a lot of those to help him on his journey of destruction. Hundreds in fact. They are very simple - just legs, simple cameras in their toroses, and destructive energy rays in their weird arms. They have no brain - just a program to annihilate everything that stands in their way. They surround Robopipe and follow the signals that he sends to them, most of the time those signals lead to no good for us.

We all know that the government has been experimenting and using robots in battle for a long time. Battelboi was one of its most ambitious projects. They were developed in the secret laboratory in the mountains and manufactured by the hundreds. Standing in the underground bunker they were oiled up and ready to go. Then the event happened. Even without any programming installed they all woke up and quickly figured out what the cannon in their left arm and a claw in the right one were for. Instead of focusing on the people or civilian things they began destroying everything that was connected with their former purpose, and began crushing tanks, rockets, war planes, and all the technology that came with it. On the one hand it is very good that people were left without weapons, on the other - people had no way of protecting themselves against any serious danger.

This is the case of old technology fighting back. Most of you probably do not remember cassette players and VHS tapes, but they are still laying around in your garages and attics. Imagine if this mess of wires, giant speakers, and reel-to-reels became sentient and very angry about being left alone to dust. It steals your smartphones, tablets, and laptops and absorbs them, slowly becoming faster and smarter. Its’ goal is to take over all of your electronics at home and make them do its bidding. It wants to control them just as Robopipe controls the Centurimax.

Once in a while construction and farming equipment malfunctions or breaks, but it began to happen more frequently. Cranes fell randomly and hurt people under, ploughs would go off course and destroy the fields, unmanned tractors with loaders would start by themselves and drive into walls of houses and ram parked cars. This became such a problem that sometimes it became impossible to finish a building or gather the crops.
